Redmon Pond

Habitat Restoration & Wildlife Viewing
The Port of Bandon is committed to the ongoing restoration and stewardship of this unique natural area. Gorse abatement efforts are ongoing, and through a partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), native grass seed has been introduced in treated areas to help restore native habitat and support the long-term health of the property.
Established walking paths provide opportunities for photographers, birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, and visitors to explore the area while enjoying its natural surroundings. Interpretive signage has also been added to help visitors learn more about the local habitat, wildlife, and ongoing restoration efforts.
Looking to the future, an elevated wildlife viewing platform with ADA-accessible access is proposed for the site. The platform would provide visitors of varying abilities with an enhanced opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy views of the surrounding natural environment.
Through continued habitat restoration and thoughtful improvements to public access, the Port hopes to preserve this special area while creating more opportunities for the community and visitors to experience and appreciate Bandon’s natural environment.
